Think about it - whenever we come across an ad or a link to an excellent service or product which will help us, we are usually pretty happy. As a consumer, I would be lost if no one advertised! Although I have to say, my Adsense and affiliate earnings have been increasing month after month. I always just focus on what I need to do, what is successful and what isn't. Of course one should keep world trends in mind and act accordingly. It probably also has something to do with choosing a niche which has a rising trend or a promising future in today's society. (Google trends can be a good tool in this respect.) I am sure that if you take all factors into account, do good research, and are willing spend what time you need to on trial-and-error, you will continue to come out on top.
