How to see if your Site is in the top Hundred search results
If you have a site optimized around a certain keyword and you want to see if it is coming up in the top hundred search results – or if you want to quickly find out what its standings are and you know it is in the top few hundred, there is a simple, fast, and free way to do this.
It’s so obvious I can’t believe I didn’t think of it before and was always using other tools which either take longer or which I paid for.1.This works in Mozilla Firefox. So you should have Mozilla Firefox installed, and you should be using it as your Internet Browser.
- Have the SEO for Firefox Addon Installed.
- Make sure the SEO for Firefox extension is turned on for this. There is a status button for it in the status bar at the bottom of your browser. When it is colored, it is on and when it is gray, it is off. (You just click it to turn it on or off.)
- Go to the home page of Google and click “Preferences.”
- At “Number of Results” set it to display 100 results per page.
- Save preferences.
- Do a Google search for your keyword.
- Hit “Control F” to find.
- In the “Find” box at the bottom of the browser window, type in the URL of your site (or even just typing a part of the URL might be enough) and hit enter.
- If your site doesn’t come up, it is not in the top hundred. You could go through the other pages of the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) if you want to see whether it is in the top 200, 300, etc.
- If your site does come up, look right below the URL in in the SERPs pages. SEO for Firefox will tell you what number it is in the SERPs.
- You can also use the same method to quickly check if any of your other pages are listed there for that keyword (for example, a Squidoo Lens, an article you submitted, etc.)
There you go. Fast, easy, and free. It’s a lot better than going through one page after the next to see if you site comes up and then counting with your finger to try to see what its ranking is!
Maybe this seems obvious but if it took me this long to figure it out. This can help you keep track of how you are doing on your SEO efforts.

Annie T. Baxters last blog post..How could an Internet Marketing Business help you survive a natural disaster like Hurricane Ike?
Well, thank YOU for the Stumble! Sorry for the delayed response, I wasn’t seeing my comment notifications. Blog Rush is extra careful on accepting IM blogs. If they don’t accept you, just build more and try again later.
