I recently found myself thinking about an email I was forwarded that talked about poverty in the world. It said things like, “if you’re reading this on your personal computer, then you’re richer than xxx% of the world’s population”. Stuff like that. I found myself very grateful for the fact that I live in a decent house and have a decent job and drive a decent car. I’m not rich…but apparently by the standards of the impoverished, I am very rich!

It never even occurred to me that someone might consider themselves rich if they owned a notebook. It never occurred to me that someone would be so thankful to receive a bar of soap as a gift.

Thanks for keeping my eyes open to what’s going on in the world, Anna. It’s true what that video says…you can switch it off, but it doesn’t go away.
